Star Wars actor John Boyega was given important advice about his love life from Orlando Bloom before The Force Awakens arrived in cinemas.
The Londoner, 25, rocketed to fame when he joined the franchise as Finn in the seventh film in the series and said Pirates Of The Caribbean star Orlando gave him a tip about his relationships.
He told The Graham Norton Show: “He told me to try and secure the love of my life before all the fame stuff starts.”
John admitted his stardom has been difficult for people he has been on dates with, telling the show: “I went on a date in New York City and as we were driving through Times Square and she asked, ‘What do you do for a living?’
“I just pointed up at the Star Wars billboard that showed me with a lightsaber and said, ‘That!’
“That was the end of the relationship, the poster really affected her.”
He had a better relationship with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry when the royals visited the set of the film, telling Norton: “I don’t remember what I said to William, I was just talking nonsense but I had a good chat with Harry.
“He’s down with the lads.”
John will soon be appearing in a modern interpretation of Woyzeck at the Old Vic in London, which he said was a welcome break from the Disney juggernaut.
He said: “It is a deep dark play I wanted to do away from the colourful Star Wars stuff.
“Growing up, I loved going to the theatre but The Old Vic was somewhere I never related to.
“For me it wasn’t real or gritty enough but now they are trying to expand their audience and pump in diversity and I am all about that.”
The Graham Norton Show is on BBC1 on Friday at 10.35pm.
