THOUSANDS turned out on Saturday for the annual Christmas lights switch on event in Halesowen town centre.
Free Radio hosted the event in Somers Square and there was live entertainment throughout the day.
B CUPS Ukulele Band and Ellmfield Community Choir performed for the crowds and Father Christmas switched on the lights with The Mayor of Dudley councillor Melvyn Mottram at 5.30pm.
Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “Saturday’s event in Halesowen was very well attended and was a great start to Christmas in Dudley borough.
“I hope everyone will turn out again to enjoy the fun when Brierley Hill holds its Christmas lights event this Saturday.”
The event was being delivered in conjunction with the Halesowen Chamber of Trade and the Cornbow Shopping Centre.
