Three Ormiston Forge Academy are limbering up for the West Midlands Athletics Championships this weekend at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.

Brittany Stewart, 14 in Year 9, has been selected to compete in the shot put, Sarah Faulkner, 15 in Year 10, has been selected for javlin and Shannon Roche, 14 in Year 9, will take part in the triple jump.

All three students live in Cradley Heath.

The students will represent Sandwell Schools Athletics Association in the West Midlands Championships at Alexander Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

Andrew Burns, Principal at Ormiston Forge Academy said, "Life at The Forge is about fulfilling your potential and doing your very best.

"We are delighted that these three girls are representing their local area and having the opportunity to compete at a higher level."

He added: "We wish them luck; they'll compete in the knowledge that they have the support of every student, staff member and parent. We are very proud of them."
