CRADLEY is currently on the look-out for community champions.

The town wants to honour public spirited people who put something back into their community.

Local councillor Tim Crumpton claimed: “We want people to come forward and nominate anyone who deserves to be recognised.

“There are people in Cradley who do fantastic work within the community but don’t get recognised of rit.

“We ran the same event last year and it proved very successful.

“People can nominate anyone of any age.

“Last year, we had a young lad who raised over £1,000 for a cancer charity, while another nomination was for two girls who went and sang at old people’s homes.

“At the other end of the scale, there was a man nominated for his support of ex-servicemen, while another helped to look after OAP’s gardens”.

Nominations can be made at Cradley Library or at any of the local churches or primary school.

Nominations are invited from June 24 and should be marked for the attention of Cllr Tim Crumpton at Dudley Council.

Alternatively nominations can be emailed to cllr.timothy.crumpton@dudley.gov.uk.
