A GROUP of football-mad friends are teaming up to play the Aston Villa Lions and Legends in Oldbury on Sunday to raise money for research into brain cancer.
TGI Friday’s kitchen manager Liam Mulholland, from Blackheath, is organising the match in memory of inspirational Birmingham schoolboy Harry Moseley who died from a brain tumour in 2011.
Despite being terminally ill, the 11-year-old raised hundreds of thousands of pounds selling bracelets he made for his charity HelpHarryHelpOthers.
Mr Mulholland, aged 38, of Meadow Road, has drawn together 28 players who have paid up to £100 each to play against Villa legends including Nigel Spink, Lee Hendrie, Gary Shaw and Tony Morley.
The game will kick off at 2.30pm at Warley Rugby Club, Tatbank Road, and spectators will be charged £4 for adults, including a match programme, and £1.50 for children, including a Harry bracelet.
All the money raised will go the charity and there will be other attractions and fundraising efforts going on, including, raffles, an auction of Villa signed momentos, bouncy castle, face painting and old fashioned sweet stall.
