A YEAR-long programme of celebrations has been launched at a Cradley school as teachers and children mark its diamond anniversary.
Sixty years of history will be recalled at Caslon Primary School, which first opened its doors in 1953.
Headteacher Adrian Pembleton said each year group is embarking on studies of the different decades, including their music and fashion.
Various celebrations and activities will culminate in a street carnival procession in the summer term.
Mr Pembleton said: “I want the children to realise that Caslon has played an important part in a lot of people’s upbringing.”
He is appealing for past pupils to bring in old school photographs to put together an anniversary display.
They can be taken to the school in Beeches View Avenue.
