THE Royal British Legion in Cradley has announced the grand total of this year's poppy appeal.
The branch raised £10,969 and secretary Harry Sturman was delighted with the amount collected.
He said: "I'd like to thank all of the residents and visitors to the local area for their support with the very generous donations for our poppy appeal. "This was mainly due to the support from the Management and shoppers at the Tesco Extra in Cradley Heath, and the local schools and businesses."
"We were supported in many ways by local people, including the Members of Parliament for Halesowen and Rowley Regis and Stourbridge."
He added: " A big thank you also to everyone who attended the parade on Sunday, November 10 as there was a large turn out of local councillors, MPs, representatives of local organisations and a large number of local people.
"And as always the church was packed for the service, a fitting tribute to the service men and women, who have served the country through many conflicts."
