TWO would-be lawyers from a Halesowen school have scooped places on a leading university programme to boost their chances of entering the profession.
Sixteen-year-olds Stephanie Holland and Aisha Woodward, who are year 12 pupils at Windsor High School, have been selected to be part of Birmingham University’s 18-month long Routes to the Legal Profession scheme.
Law teacher Zoe Tromans said: “This prestigious programme is delivered by the university in partnership with Birmingham Law School and will enable students to get advice on studying law at undergraduate level and to develop valuable skills for legal careers.“
The A-level pupils will be mentored by current law undergraduates and shadow law students, as well as have opportunities to receive guidance from professional mentors and undertake work placements at a law firm.
Mrs Tromans added: “Both students were selected following a rigorous and fiercely competitive application process and their success reflects their commitment to their law studies and career aspirations.”
