AN Intrepid duo from npower's Oldbury base helped raise £14,000 for a cancer charity by cycling across the country, from coast to coast.
Satish Salhan and Ashley Shenton joined around 35 energy supply workers from around the UK in the three day event from Whitehaven to Sunderland.
The money raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, the company’s charity partner.
Forecasting manager Mr Salhan said: “Before the weekend, I was dreading the ride but when we got going, everyone pulled together and made it through.
“Having had family, friends and colleagues affected by cancer, I've seen first-hand the amazing work Macmillan do, which is what pulled me through."
The cycle ride was the sixth in a 10-challenge campaign to raise £150,000 this year, which marks 10 years of partnership between Macmillan and npower. The company will match fund every pound raised.
