HALESOWEN Town have announced the signing of Robert Thompson-Brown from Hednesford.

The forward has been snapped up by the Yeltz after scoring in last weekend's pre-season friendly victory against Romulus at Coles Lane.

Thompson-Brown, a former Kidderminster Harriers player, has a wealth of experience at a higher level and will bolster the Yeltz forward line ahead of their first season in the Northern Premier League.

A former trainee at Harriers, Birmingham-born Thompson-Brown spent a year at Aggborough before being released in the summer of 2010.

After a brief spell at Redditch United, he joined Midland Alliance side Stratford Town in September 2010. Following a handful of appearances for Stratford, Harriers re-signed the teenager and rewarded him with a one year contract after being involved in the first team picture during the latter stages of the 2010-2011 season

After failing to break into the Harriers first team in the 2011-2012 season, he was allowed to join Blue Square Bet North side Solihull Moors for a month, but was recalled due to an injury crisis at Aggborough after having his initial loan spell extended the previous week.

Thompson-Brown did return to Damson Park later in the season, spending a lengthier spell there towards the end of the campaign as Moors just escaped relegation to step three.

Nuneaton Town was his next stop after leaving Kidderminster in the summer of 2012, but again he found first team opportunities scarce as Town struggled with the demands of the Blue Square Bet Premier.

A short loan spell at Daventry Town was followed by a month's loan at Evo-Stik Southern Premier League title-chasing Leamington. He was recalled after just two appearances by Nuneaton, who loaned him out to Redditch United to guarantee more first team football.

Released in the summer of 2013, Thompson-Brown linked up with the Pitmen and impressed immediately with his desire to chase the ball and use his pace to good effect. He was involved in most of the club's pre-season games, with a trial game at Worcester City sandwiched in during a busy pre-season programme

In August 2013, it was announced that Thompson-Brown had agreed a deal with the Hednesford Town ahead of the upcoming Skrill North season. Robert has now joined up with his Halesowen Town team mates ahead of the 2014/15 season.
