BIRD boxes have been put up a public garden in Halesowen to encourage more wildlife into the area.

Halesowen in Bloom organised the venture in partnership with Halas Homes as part of ongoing improvements to Fingerpost Gardens.

The area in Rumbow was tidied up and planted as part of this year’s Britain in Bloom entry.

Halesowen in Bloom chairman Eve O’Connor said the bird boxes were an attempt to improve the bio-diversity of the gardens.

Mrs O’Connor said it was important all sectors of the community were involved in Halesowen in Bloom and she was grateful for the input by Halas Homes, which cares for people with learning difficulties.
