Dart Products Limited, a packaging company which led the way with polystyrene foam recycling, awarded Ormiston Forge Academy the funds this week.
Head of English Dave Jenks said: "We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from Dart. These Chromebooks will make a difference to the way our students are able to access materials; they will make a considerable difference to the lives of young people."
Greg Kettle, a shift supervisor at Dart and alumnus of Ormiston Forge Academy when it was Heathfield School, presented the cheque along with his son Dylan, who is a current year seven student at Forge Academy.
He was joined by Nicola Worsfield from Dart, Dave Jenks from Forge, and Principal Andrew Burns.
