A TALENTED Halesowen artist has been chosen to exhibit his work at the town's Cornbow Centre.

John Shaw, aged 75, will be exhibiting 17 pictures and paintings between Monday, May 11 and Monday, May 25.

The skilled painter has been painting all his life and is looking forward to the exhibition.

He said: "I first started painting and drawing when I was old enough to pick up a pencil and have not stopped since.

"I have been holding exhibitions in Halesowen for over 20 years and everyone is different and I am always pleased to have the opportunity to show people what I am capable of."

The artist specialises in acrylic paintings and enjoys capturing wildlife and pets.

John, who used to be a designer, has lived off Mucklow Hill for 40 years, and is delighted there is an outlet for local artists at the Cornbow Centre.

He said: "I think it is important local people get the chance to see art as they go about their everyday life and it is also important to artists to be allowed to showcase their talent.

"The Cornbow Centre is doing Halesowen a service by allowing me and all the other local artists to exhibit there throughout the year."
