CLOUDS of thick, black smoke from the Oldbury plastics firm blaze can be seen as far away as Telford.
Tweeters also report being able to smell the smoke in Birmingham city centre.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said 100 per cent of the factory roof of the single storey brick and steel framed industrial unit in Tat Bank Road, Langley, is well alight.
Acetane and propane gas cylinders have been moved to safety at the premises of the firm, which is understood to belong to Teknor Apex.
Tat Bank Road has been closed while 14 firefighters tackle the blaze using eight appliances.
