NOEL Coward fans are invited to come aboard for a nautical musical romp at Halesowen’s parish church.

The comedy, Coward at Sea, performed by professional actor Michael Lunts, features the master’s P&O 1930 – a magical evocation of the historic P&O route home to Britain from the Far East.

Lunts, who is also a singer and pianist, brings to life the eccentric cast of Coward characters and includes many of his best-loved songs, from Matelot to Mad Dogs and Englishmen, from Nina to Marvellous Party and Sail Away.

The performer has travelled widely with his intimate revues devised from the musical work of stars including Joyce Grenfell, Tom Lehrer and Flanders and Swann.

Margaret Pickford, from St John the Baptist Church, said the production was a “major event” for the church and can be seen on Saturday September 19 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £10 including refreshments, are available by calling 0121 5012443, from the Traidcraft shop in the church or on the door.
