Primary school youngsters in Halesowen helped see in the summer with a Maypole celebration.
Children from seven Halesowen schools turned out in the town on Tuesday May 1 to entertain shoppers with a variety of traditional dancing.
Maypole and country dancing took place around a Maypole in Somers Square from 11am to noon.
Stuart Perry, Halesowen town centre manager, said: "We were delighted the primary school youngsters entertained shoppers in the town.
"Hopefully this will be the start of what could be an annual celebration in Halesowen."
Schools involved were Our Lady and St Kenelm, Halesowen Church of England, Hasbury, Newfield Park, Olive Hill, Tenterfields and Howley Grange primary schools.
