A MUSIC club struck a chord with Halesowen golfers at its annual concert and came away with a cheque for £250 and the promise of year-long support.

More than 20 Halas Homes singers performed a variety of classics including numbers from The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Abba.

Halesowen-based Halas Homes, which provides residential, respite, day activities and supported living for people with learning disabilities, has been chosen by the town’s golf club as its charity for 2016.

Membership secretary David Parry said more than 50 members and guests “thoroughly enjoyed the evening” and Captains Brian Coldrick and Elaine Povey presented Halas Homes with the £250 donation.

He said: “Halesowen Golf Club has had a long standing relationship with Halas Homes and as well as the musical evenings members of Halas Homes now have regular golf sessions at the club.”
