BIRMINGHAM is set to host a major festival which will bring more than 400 whiskies to the region.

The Midlands Whiskey Festival, the biggest of its type outside London, will take place on Saturday September 16 at thestudiobirmingham.

Some of the most influential names in the business will be at the event which is organised by Nickolls and Perks of Stourbridge, one of the UK’s oldest wine and spirits merchants.

David Gardener, of Nickolls and Perks, said: “Last year we celebrated our milestone anniversary by introducing a second festival in Birmingham and we are absolutely delighted to be bringing the festival back to the city centre next month.

"Holding the festival in the heart of the city means that we are able to showcase this wide range of whiskies to a whole new audience.

“There has been a real whisky renaissance in the past couple of years, but we’re in the exceptional position of not only hosting a decade of events dedicated to the spirit, but also being one of the UK’s oldest and most established merchants. We bring our expertise and passion to the event, giving guests a true taster of the Nickolls and Perks style.”

Tickets for Midlands Whisky Festival’s autumn show are on sale now, priced at £40, every guest will receive a branded festival glass, programme with detailed information about the brands and whisky industry and a chance to sample the 100 whiskies on taste.
