A TRIO of young Halesowen dancers had the opportunity to be trained by one of the most famous ballet experts in the country – Wayne Sleep.
Tabatha Rostron, Niamh Smith and Millie Barker – who are tutored by Nicole Penn at the La Pelle Academy of Dance – were privileged to dance alongside the former principal dancer of the Royal Ballet.
Chosen from 1000s of applicants across dance schools in the UK, Nicole’s students were picked to take part in an intense workshop, led by Wayne, aimed at those who show the potential to make dancing their career.

Nicole herself is no stranger to Wayne’s professionalism and drive, having danced with the Birmingham Royal Ballet herself.
“My girls had an absolutely amazing day and I am so incredibly proud of them,” Nicole said. “I am looking forward to sharing this experience with all of my students as we continue to watch them grow and reach their full potential with La Pelle.”
Nicole returned to her hometown to launch La Pelle just one year ago, after studying at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
