THREE teenagers were arrested after a 13-year-old was threatened with a knife and had his mobile phone stolen in Blackheath.
Officers from West Midlands Police’s shallow water search team were flagged down by the victim after the incident in High Street on December 19.
In spite of their water sodden clothes, the officers gave chase to three youths, who have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The trio, all aged between 16 and 17, were apprehended and one was found to have a large kitchen knife in his waistband.
A member of the public had intervened before police arrived and rescued the phone, while police said the perpetrators threatened to stab the victim.
All three teenagers were taken in for questioning but have since been released.
