A MAN committed suicide at his Cradley flat just days before Christmas, a coroner’s court has heard.
Scott Lee Wilkes, aged 38, was found by a friend hanged at his home in Severn Road on December 20.
Police were called to Chaucer House by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, following reports that a man had been found hanged.
During an inquest at Black Country Coroners Court, the court heard a friend of Mr Wilkes hadn't heard from him for days so went to his home to check on him, where his body was discovered.
Senior coroner’s officer Joanne Stokes said his mother had told her that since his brother had passed away four years ago Mr Wilkes had been “up and down” with mood swings and the recent loss of a close friend is what she believed “pushed him over the edge”.
David Urpeth, assistant coroner, concluded Mr Wilkes took his own life.
