A FIT staff member from a Halesowen opticians is set to take part in a four-hour body combat marathon to raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Lorraine Chew, shop floor supervisor at the Cornbow Shopping Centre-based Specsavers store, hopes to punch and kick her way to a fantastic fundraising total when she takes part in the event at Stourbridge’s Crystal Leisure Centre on Thursday (February 8).

“I’m actually really looking forward to the body combat marathon,” Lorraine said. “Although it will be a challenging four hours, it’s for a great cause.”

Mary Stevens Hospice provides specialist care and support for people across Dudley borough who are living with an incurable illness, as well as their families.

Lorraine, who is calling on Halesowen customers to help her raise money for the hospice, added: “Having worked at the store for 12 years now, I’ve seen the generosity of the community at fundraising events before and I hope they can come together again to support this wonderful charity.”
