THE new season of special film screenings at Oldbury Rep starts this week with the first film up being the Oscar nominated drama ‘Victoria and Abdul’.
Starring Judi Dench as Queen Victoria, the film is based on the book of same name by Shrabani Basu, about the real-life relationship between Victoria and her Indian Muslim servant Abdul Karim.
Tickets for the 7.30pm showing on Friday (February 23), cost £4, with the film being shown in the Rep’s 170 seat auditorium, with high quality digital projection beaming it onto a 16ft screen.
Following ‘Victoria and Abdul’, on March 23 audiences can see Kenneth Branagh and an all-star cast go full steam ahead in ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, before ‘Paddington 2’ provides fun for children of all ages on April 6.
For more information visit www.oldburyrep.org, where further titles and their dates being shown on the screen will be confirmed.
