A HALESOWEN primary school is set to have trained all of its teachers and support staff in emergency first aid by the end of this week.

Delivered by Mini First Aid Birmingham, the training has already begun at Hurst Green Primary School, with a number of staff members already learning the life-saving skills.

A final session is set to be held on Wednesday (March 7) and by the end of it will see all 50-plus staff trained up.

Mini First Aid have already taught first aid to children in key stage one at the school last year and are planning to run the fun and interactive sessions for key stage two this year.

It was launched in 2018 by mums Anna Ruffle and Lorraine Dyer, who have already trained more than 1,000 adults and 200 children in what to do in an emergency before professional help arrives.

Lorraine said: “Learning first aid is such an important life skill we think both adults and children should learn.

“It’s fantastic that the school want all staff to feel confident if a medical emergency or accident were to occur and children to know what to do if their friend or grown up needed their help.”
