PEOPLE who feel isolated or lonely in Halesowen are being invited to an open day at the town’s Age Concern centre.

Staff, clients and volunteers will be on hand from 11am until 2pm on Tuesday (March 13) to answer questions about what the Green Lane day centre offers, while local health professionals have also been invited to attend.

Halesowen North councillors Hilary Bills and Karen Shakespeare are set to attend the event, as is Dudley Council’s cabinet member for adult social care Cllr Nic Barlow.

Dionne Legge, chief officer of Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen, said: “We really want to encourage people to attend. Should you know anyone lonely or isolated that would benefit from a day centre and the company please come along so you can recommend Green Lane.

“Ring and Ride can provide door to door transport for £2.40 return journey and we charge £15 per day – the cheapest around – for a day of company, a three-course home cooked meal, entertainment, exercise and suitable activities.”
