AN enterprising Halesowen accountancy firm has given its support to an awards scheme that aims to inspire the next generation of West Midlands entrepreneurs.

Nicklin LLP, which provides business and accountancy services, sponsored the ‘Sustainable Business Award’ category in the Young Enterprise regional finals, which took place at West Midlands Safari Park earlier this month.

The winners of the award – ‘Umberbags’ – created bags from recycled umbrellas and received the award for “creating environmentally friendly products, which had a positive impact on the local environment”.

Rebecca Bond, operations manager for Nicklin LLP, said: “We are delighted to be part of this worthwhile initiative that helps young people develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed, making the connection between school and the world of work.

“As a business we understand the importance of nurturing young talent, investing in the young people in our region.

“The initiative, relies upon charitable donations and practical support from the local business community, we are proud that we were able to play our part in supporting our regions finalists.”
