HEALTHCARE heroes from across Sandwell have been recognised at the prestigious General Practice Stars of 2018 Awards.
Following the success of last year’s event, NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG ran the event again this year, showcasing and celebrating the hard work and staff commitment that goes into delivering excellent patient care in general practice.
There were more than 150 submissions for the various awards, with Regis Medical Centre’s Davinia George picking up the ‘Practice Nurse of the Year’ prize for having “passion, drive and giving everything and everyone 100 per cent”.
While the ‘Antibiotics Champion Award’ went to the nurse practitioner team of Lianne White and Rebeca Cobane from Hill Top Medical Centre in Oldbury.
Dr Nick Harding, chairman of NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG, said: “These inspirational awards are a celebration of the dynamism and dedication of our primary care teams to improve patient care by delivering high quality services.
“This special event gave our staff and patients the opportunity to recognise, once more, the outstanding contribution that primary care staff and clinicians make to our communities on a daily basis.”
