HUNDREDS of people got together to enjoy the summer sun at a special community barbecue on the old St Luke’s Church ground in Cradley Heath.
Put on by Cradley Heath Community Link with help from the town’s Tesco store, 250 burgers and 150 sausages were said to have been consumed at the event.
Rev Alicia Baker, vicar of St John’s Church Dudley Wood and Cradley Heath, said: “Bouncy castles, face painting, games and sports all added to a fantastic festival feel.”
The High Street church was pulled down two years ago, but the ground is welcome to be used by the public.
Rev Baker said individuals are free to use the space, but organised groups need to speak to her first, by emailing vicar@stjohnsdudleywood.org, or calling 01384 591096.
