A TEENAGER who who died after his motorbike hit a tree in Quinton has been named as Ellis Haarhoff.

The 18-year-old crashed in Wolverhampton Road at around 11.45pm on Sunday (September 9).

He was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries but sadly died on Monday morning (September 10).

A statement from Ellis’s family said: “The love we have for Ellis in our hearts will never fade. "He is loved by many and will always be our beautiful boy.”

PC Mark Crozier, from West Midlands Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Ellis tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his family at this terribly traumatic time.

"We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to help us establish the circumstances around this collision.

"I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white van which was travelling on Wolverhampton Road at the time and may hold vital information."
