THE Black Country Society's new lecture season will begin with a talk about the Black Country Living Museum's plans for the future.

Andrew Lovett, chief executive of the popular Dudley tourist attraction, will be speaking about 'BCLM Forging Ahead' - the first phase of a 40-year masterplan to create a new major historic 1940s-60s development, new learning spaces and improved visitor facilities at the Tipton Road museum.

The £25million project is backed by major funding from the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, with the aim of increasing visitor numbers to 500,000 a year and creating 60 new jobs and 35 apprenticeships.

The talk will take place on Wednesday September 26 at 7.30pm at the Black Country Living Museum.

Both members of the society and non-members are welcome to attend.

Admission is £2.
