INTREPID Stourbridge Director of Rugby Neil Mitchell is about to reach for his cycling helmet again - but it's all for a good cause.
Mitch will be attempting to cycle 400 miles in the space of four days to try and raise much needed funds for the charity Cure Leukaemia.
He is taking part in the London to Paris cycle ride next week where he will be accompanied by some of his Stourton Park colleagues.
They include the club's Watt bike guru and sports masseur Andy Tomkins, together with Damian Webb from his coaching staff and player Aaron Harlow who featured for Stourbridge in their recent fixture against Dings Crusaders.
Mitch is no stranger when it comes to cycling for good causes and is realistic when it comes to raising funds.
He said: "I appreciate, that in this multi-media world there is constant pressure on people to dip their hands into their pockets for charitable causes.
"However, cancer is a condition that invades all of our lives directly and indirectly.
"Leukaemia in particular has touched the families of many members of our club in recent years.
"Both Andy and myself are on the wrong side of 50 and I am also on the wrong side of 20 stone.
"But our issues pale into insignificance compared to those who suffer from Leukaemia.
"If anyone feels they can sponsor our fat boys' efforts to negotiate the Somme, we would really appreciate it.
"Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives."
