HERE'S your Monday evening news round-up for the Black Country and north Worcestershire.

A cyclist was killed today (Monday October 22) and another injured following a crash with a HGV lorry on a busy Hartlebury road.

Police have arrested a man from Halesowen on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident, on the A449 near its junction with Manor Lane, Waresley, on the Worcester-bound carriageway at around 11am this morning.

Paramedics battled in vain to save the male cyclist - a Brierley Hill resident aged in his 60s - but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second cyclist - a man also aged in his 60s from Hagley - was taken to Worcestershire Royal for further treatment.

Organisers of the annual open weekend held at Stourbridge's Bonded Warehouse have hailed this year's event a resounding success.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the 35th annual event, hosted by Stourbridge Navigation Trust, on Saturday October 20 and Sunday October 21.

Around 80 narrowboats descended on the Stourbridge Canal for the event which also included a classic car display, steam engines, amusements, canal boat trips on the trust's trip boat The Blackcountryman, fairground organ, hog roast, outdoor bar and a craft fair in the Bonded Warehouse.

The mum-of-four said of the service: “It could be rented, it could be for people with disabilities, people who are socially awkward, I offer a completely different service.

“There are other customisations I do, including celebrities.

“We can do anything that anyone requests.”
