NEW CCTV may hold vital clues for the investigation into a crash which killed a teenaged motorcyclist.

West Midlands Police have released video from the evening of the smash in Quinton which shows a white van.

Officers believe the van driver may be a key witness, the van was close to the scene of the incident which took place on Sunday September 9.

Ellis Haarhoff, who was aged 18, died after his motorbike hit a tree in Wolverhampton Road.

Officers are still working to establish the circumstances of the collision, which took place at approximately 11.45pm.

Cops think the van turned into Hagley Road towards Quinton.

PC Mark Crozier, from West Midlands Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are determined to find out exactly what occurred in the build-up to the bike hitting the tree.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Ellis at this devastating time and we are urging the driver of the white van to come and speak to us.

“I want to stress that we do not think this van driver was the cause of the collision, but that they may have witnessed what happened.”
