THE Rotary Club of Stourbridge has joined forces with Rotary clubs around the world to support the environment and help cut the carbon footprint in the area.

The club has planted a large number of saplings in Wollescote Park with help from Young Rotarians from Wollescote Primary School and the Friends of Wollescote Park.

The project, which aims to improve the environment, cut the carbon footprint and engage with community groups, follows previous Rotary Club activities to improve the environment such as the planting of purple flowering Crocus bulbs to promote Rotary Club efforts to eradicate polio.

The club has also supported Stourbridge in Bloom in the past.
