A dog walker has reported being knocked unconscious and slashed with what is thought to be a knife in an horrific attack in woods in Cradley.

The 20-year-old man said he came round after being knocked unconscious to find the attacker scratching his face with an object in woodland off Ormonde Close behind Cradley cemetery.

The attack happened at around 9pm on Saturday (January 12).

The attacker fled the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a dog walker being assaulted in woodland off Ormonde Close, Cradley, at around 9pm on Saturday.

"The 20-year-old man reported being approached from behind and knocked unconscious.

"He then awoke soon after to find his t-shirt and hooded top with rips; and a man scratching his face with an unknown object.

"The offender then fled the scene and the victim was left with superficial cuts which did not require hospital treatment."
