IT specialist firm EBC Group is preparing for a busy 30th anniversary with a year of charity events and activities.

As part of the celebrations the company is aiming to raise £30,000 for their chosen charities as part of their ’30 for 30’ campaign, which will see EBC Group employees take part in different activities and events throughout the year for a good cause.

EBC Group was established in 1989 by group managing director Richard Lane, and is a provider of Managed IT and technology, having originally begun as a small fax and printer business.

EBC has evolved throughout its 30 year history to the point at which the business now encompasses a range of services including IT support, cloud services, disaster recovery and cyber security.

Events planned for 2019 include a Charity Race Day and Golf Day, as well as Mr Lane participating in a gruelling nine-day 'Amazon Survival Experience' for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

The challenge involves a group of explorers sleeping, trekking and surviving for nine days in some of the most remote parts of the Amazon Rainforest.

Mr Lane said: ‘Reaching our 30th year is a fantastic achievement, and one I am deeply proud of.

"2019 is certainly going to be a year to remember, with some great events already planned for our employees, clients and suppliers.

"Giving back to the community is something EBC Group holds at the heart of the business, whether that’s via fundraising, or via sponsorship of local organisations, and our 30th year is fantastic way to celebrate this."

The company, based in Halesowen, is also IT partner and sponsor of Worcester Warriors, telephony & print partners and shirt sponsor of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, strategic partner of Kidderminster Harriers and technology partner and sponsor of Wolverhampton Racecourse, as well as being a patron of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
