A PERSON has died after being hit by a train at Stourbridge Junction this morning (Wednesday).

All services to and from the station were suspended while emergency crews attended the scene.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Stourbridge Junction station at 11.11am this morning (16/1) following reports a person had been struck by a train.

"Paramedics are also in attendance and sadly a person has been pronounced dead.

"Officers remain on scene and are working to identify the person and inform their family."

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a collision between a train and a pedestrian at Stourbridge Junction Railway Station, just after 11am this morning.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a rapid response paramedic were sent to the scene.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival, crews discovered a patient who had suffered multiple serious injuries in the incident.

“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
