WEST Midlands MEP Bill Etheridge has slammed all four Dudley borough MPs for voting for the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.
Conservative MPs Margot James (Stourbridge), Mike Wood (Dudley South), James Morris (Halesowen and Rowley Regis) and Labour’s Ian Austin (Dudley North) all voted for Theresa May’s EU withdrawal agreement which failed to get through Parliament last night (Tuesday).
Mr Etheridge, who switched from UKIP to the Libertarian Party UK, said: “This was Brexit in name only.”
The MEP, who is now deputy chairman of Libertarian Party UK, added: “In Dudley North 69 per cent voted Leave, with the whole region following suit. What part of Leave did these MPs think was included in that deal?
“Our region deserves better. This is unrepresentative democracy. The system has failed.”
Theresa May is to face a vote of no confidence tonight at 7pm after last night’s defeat.
