A DANCE student from Halesowen College was chosen to star in the curtain raiser for Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake in Birmingham last Friday (February 8).
Ophelia Nunes-Wickham was among more than 200 students to be selected to dance before the professional performance of Swan Lake at The Birmingham Hippodrome.
The 17-year-old danced in the curtain raiser before the professional dancers from Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.
Gemma Sherratt, course leader for dance at Halesowen College, said: “We are extremely proud of Ophelia for achieving this prestigious position, it is an excellent opportunity for her to work with professional dancers from New Adventures.”
