A MENTAL health inpatient ward in Dudley has received top accredititation for the care it provides to the over 65s.
Malvern ward, at Bushey Fields Hospital, received the Quality Network for Older Adults Mental Health Services (QNOAMHS) accreditation in recognitition of its assessment, care and treatment of older patients.
Ward staff were praised for helping families and carers to understand the nature of their loved one’s mental health conditions by providing information along with practical and emotional support to achieve a full recovery.
Ward Manager, Marianne Cole said: “As a Trust we are extremely proud to receive QNOAMHS accreditation. It’s given us a benchmark to work towards in our everyday practice but it is important that we constantly look at ways to improve.”
Mark Axcell, Chief Executive at Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Trust, which manages the hospital said: “We always strive to achieve the best and this accreditation recognises the dedication and hard work of all our staff and showcases the high-quality of care that we provide.
“Many congratulations to all clinical staff and ward managers.”
