Police have stepped up patrols at Rowley Regis train station after a spate of vandalism to cars.

Nine car windscreens were smashed and other vehicles had wing mirrors kicked off at the station's car park last Thursday - other incidents of vandalism to cars have been reported on social media.

The incident has led to police stepping up patrols of the car park off Station Road and sending a warning to train users not to leave valuables in their vehicles.

West Midlands Police's Rowley team tweeted on Sunday: "@RowleyWMP are patroling Rowley Regis Train Station car park this morning due to an increase in cars being broken into. "PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES ON SHOW.

"Don't make it easy for the thieves #staysecure."

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We have had a number of reports of vehicles being broken into on Rowley Regis train station car park.
