IAN Austin MP met with Dudley’s favourite son Sir Lenny Henry in Parliament this week to mark the fundraising achievements of Comic Relief.

Sir Lenny co-founded Comic Relief with Richard Curtis in 1995, and the charity has raised hundreds of millions of pounds for good causes across the world.

Red Nose Day takes place today, March 15, with fundraising activities taking place all over the country.

Dudley’s own Sir Lenny was in Parliament this week to celebrate the fundraising achievements of people across the UK.

Mr Austin said: ““It was fantastic to talk to Lenny as he visited Westminster this week.

“We talked about growing up in Dudley, the great work local young people are doing on Red Nose Day to raise lots of money and how proud everyone in Dudley is of everything he has achieved.”

The Comic Relief TV fundraiser kicks off at 7pm tonight on BBC1.
