TINKERS Farm Opera is getting set to stage Cole Porter classic Kiss Me Kate next month.

Rehearsals are now in full swing for the show, which will run at Stourbridge Town Hall from Wednesday May 8 to Saturday May 11, about egotistical actor/director Fred Graham who is putting on his next musical extravaganza alongside his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi in Baltimore in 1948.

Husband and wife duo Dan and Kate Cox are set to star as Fred Graham/Petruchio and Kate/Lilli Vanessi respectively, while newcomer 17-year-old Eddie Adkins, who has been with the society just a few weeks, will play Gremio.

Society chairman John Nicholas said: “It’s my privilege this year to be chairman of this wonderful company and, I think it’s fair to say, we can boast an exceptionally strong principal cast."

Returning members Rebecca Bate and Richard Cooper, stars of last year's Me and My Girl, will play Lois Lane and Bill Calhoun respectively and Beth Siviter-Coupland returns to the society to star as Hattie, having had to pull out of Me and My Girl last year due to family commitments.

Directed by Emma Harley with musical direction from Edd Caine, the show features a host of memorable songs including Wunderbar, So in Love, Too Darn Hot and Another Op’nin’ of Another Show.

Evening performances start at 7.15pm and there will also be a matinee show on Saturday May 11 starting at 2pm.

Tickets for the show are available online from www.boroughhalls.co.uk/TFO.html or from Pauline Starkey on 0121 422 2466, or by calling the box office on 01384 812812.
