A STREET in Oldbury has now reopened after being earlier closed by police due to the discovery of a suspected war grenade.

Penncricket Lane was closed at around 6pm by West Midlands Police after a suspected war grenade was found.

People had been advised to avoid the area and a bomb disposal team attended the scene.

The closure has now been lifted, and Force Response took to Twitter to confirm the grenade was 'not live'.
