A FORMER Dudley police officer who is serving a jail sentence over indecent images of a child has been officially dismissed from West Midlands Police.
Paul Davies, a former officer and Young Persons Officer with Dudley Police, was dismissed at a police misconduct hearing on May 9 after being found to have committed gross misconduct.
He left the force after his arrest last year.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Police confirmed that the outcome of the hearing was that Davies would have been dismissed.
Davies, a former member of the Wrens Nest and Milking Bank Neighbourhood team, did not attend the hearing as he is currently serving a nine month jail term after pleading guilty to making five indecent images of a child between March 12 and April 15 last year.
The 57-year-old was named West Midlands’ Beat Officer of the Year in 2009.
