A TEENAGER has been arrested after violence broke out at Oldbury Academy.

The 14-year-old boy – who can’t be named for legal reasons – was detained after the assault at the Pound Lane-based school yesterday (Monday).

West Midlands Police said he remains in custody as police enquiries continue.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police were called to the Oldbury Academy school in Pound Road, Oldbury just before 9am on Monday, May 13 to a report of an assault.

“A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.

“Enquiries continue.”
