A MUM-OF-TWO is about to fulfil her lifelong dream of running her own shop - as she prepares to open a deli in Halesowen.

Nicola Boland resigned from her role as an admin assistant in an office to open the Daily Deli on Halesowen Road.

The 37-year-old was inspired to take the bold step by her friend Lisa Daly, who threw in the towel on her office job to open The Wax Tart which she runs from her Halesowen home, selling candles and wax melts.

Nicola named the shop, which will throw open its doors in mid June, as a tribute to Lisa. It will sell deli style sandwiches, breakfasts, cakes, drinks including coffees and hot chocolates and smoothies, amongst other things.

She said: "Lisa inspired me to give up my job and to just go for it.

"I can't wait for it to open. I'm so excited - it's all I've ever wanted to do.

"It's my ultimate dream."

Nicola, who is married to Mark and mum to Jacob, 13 and Isaac, 7, worked in admin for a firm in Tipton since 2003.

Fed up of the nine to five and itching to fulfil her dream, she left her job in April and started working supplying food to the corporate market as a mobile business operating from her home in Wollescote.

Then she saw the unit, which was a former dessert shop, become available.

She said: "The shop has been gutted.

"It was beautiful before, but not how I wanted it, so I have totally re-done it."

The shop is opposite the Stag and Three Horseshoes on Halesowen Road.
