, which ends on Sunday (June 16), with plenty of items of interest for sporting fans in Halesowen and the wider Black Country area.

Company owner Matt Bytheway believes the programme featuring a Villa Reserves' Birmingham and District League game against Halesowen will attract some serious interest.

He said: "First of all, it's the general age of the programme - it's so rare nowadays to get programmes that date back that far in such good condition.

"The reason this one is in such good nick is that these used to be kept in bound volumes at the end of each season.

"From that sort of period, pre-World War I, there aren't going to be many programmes that have survived.

"I'm sure Halesowen fans out there will have some interest in it and certainly Villa supporters will."

The Cradley Heath speedway programme from 1947, meanwhile, comes from the club's first season and features a National League meeting with Plymouth.

Enthusiast Tim Beddow said: "Programmes are difficult to obtain from that first season."

The auction also features an assortment of Heathens' programmes from the 1960s.
