FOLLOWING one of most nail-biting men's singles finals in Wimbledon history, Wollaston Tennis Club is opening its doors for a free tennis event this weekend.

The club in Prestwood Drive, Stourton, will host its Nature Valley Big Tennis weekend this Saturday (July 20) from 1pm to 5.30pm.

Open to non-members - the event will provide an opportunity for children and adults to play on the club's newly refurbished courts for a fun afternoon of tennis.

All equipment will be provided and club members will be there to help and play along with those venturing along, with special open day membership offers available throughout the day.

Refreshments will also be available.

Club member Max Bywater said “ We’ve already had a great response to our free tennis during Wimbledon fortnight and have had some great feedback. We look forward to welcoming people along on Saturday.”

Nature Valley is partnering with the Lawn Tennis Association to run Big Tennis Weekends throughout the summer, giving people chance to play at their local courts for free.

Wollaston Tennis Club, which offers tennis all year round, has seen significant investment in 2018 - now boasting four new all-weather courts with state-of-the-art floodlighting, thanks to grant funding from Enovert Community Trust and Ibstock Enovert Trust, in addition to its existing four modern courts.
