A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a car smashed into stationary cars in Halesowen.

The accident happened on Hagley Road, at around 8pm last night (Sunday September 22).

Andrew Podmore, of Shenley Lane, Selly Oak, has been charged with drink driving.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The 34-year-old has been bailed before his court appearance at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 October."

A local resident who saw the aftermath said: "The police, fire and ambulance were there. The car hit three cars, there was lots of debris on the road.

"The road was closed."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance said: "We were to reports of a car that had collided with parked cars. One ambulance attended - we assessed one man and he was discharged at the scene."
